Leadership Skills

Engineers are typically promoted to positions of leadership as a “reward” for their technical excellence.  These new roles, as either a team leader or manager, demand a completely different set of skills.  These new skills include effective communication skills, conflict resolution, and change management.  To be successful, the new leader must quickly demonstrate proficiency in these new skills.

New leaders must also resolve any personal and professional issues associated with the transition from technologist to generalist.  We will cover each of these topics as well as practice these new leadership skills and techniques.
